A/B Switcher

The A/B Switcher is a CV controllable signal switcher which is developed as a companion for the Vari-step Step Sequencer ( https://store.cherryaudio.com/modules/vari-step-variable-step-sequencer ) module.

Of course, it can be used in any of signal-switching situations since it just passes the input signal to the output without any modifications.

• Change: Switch state wasn't saved on build#1. Now the selection of source channel is stored in presets/variations.

Controls and I/O

Buttons

• Select A, Select B: Selects input channel A or B immediately.

Knobs

• Chance: Biases the chance of selection on random toggling. It has no effect when the Random switch is turned off.
• Fade time (Gate, CV, End of Line): Sets the time for cross-fading output value between A and B.

Switch

• Random: When the switch is turned on, the selection of sources (A or B) will be changed alternatively. With the switch on, the selection of source will be selected randomly according to the setting of Chance knob when the Toggle input is triggered.

Editable Label

• "Gate", "CV", "End of Lane": The text on those three labels in the Input section can be changed. Simply, double click on a label and input a new text. When the label is changed, text of the label of corresponding output jack changes simultaneously. To revert to default text, input no text here.

Inputs

• Toggle: Toggles the selection of sources on trigger. It triggers the Toggle function when the voltage of the input signal crossed above 2.5v. If the Random switch is turned on, the selection will be changed at random.
• Select: Changes the selection of source by the input voltage. When the voltage value is equal or higher than 2.5v,
• A, B: Sets A or B as the inputs when the voltage of the input signal crossed above 2.5v.
• Gate, CV, End of Lane: Signals input here are the sources. Source signals are handed to corresponding jack in Output section.

Outputs

• Gate: Outputs signal of the uppermost jack of Input section. The label just below the jack will change its text at the change of editable label in Input section.
• CV: Outputs signal of the second jack of Input section. The label just below the jack will change its text at the change of editable label in Input section.
• End of Lane: Outputs signal of the jack at the bottom of Input section. The label just below the jack will change its text at the change of editable label in Input section.
