The DMT FM-Voice is a compact, 4-voice paraphonic, 2-operator FM Oscillator voice - great for a wide array of sounds, from retro 80s to futuristic, from percussive kicks, hats and snares, to lush chords, deep basses, and all sorts of weird sound effects in between!

Controls, Inputs, Outputs

FREQ. - Standard 1v/Oct CV Input for connecting to Sequencer/Keyboard Pitch Outputs. The knob allows you to transpose this by up to -/+ 36 semitones.

RATIO - Controls the ratio between the frequencies of the carrier and the modulator oscillators. For example, at 2.00, the modulator frequency is twice the carrier frequency. Try non-integer values for for inharmonic sounds. When in FIX mode (see below), this controls the actual frequency of the modulator, which isn't affected by the Freq Input.

MOD. - Controls the Index (modulation depth) - or how much the modulator oscillator affects the frequency of the carrier oscillator.

SHAPE CONTROLS - Special Multi-Function control which is the same for Pitch Mod, FM Mod and Amp. The control is split into 5 sections: Fully to the left - very short attack and decay/release. From 0% to 20% - decay increases. 20% to 40% - decay stays at full, attack increases. 40% to 60% - attack stays at full, decay decreases 60% to 80% - decay stays at minimum, attack decreases. 80% to 100% - attack and decay both increase

PITCH ENV SHAPE - Controls the envelope shape for the gain of the Carrier Oscillator.

PITCH ENV AMOUNT - Controls the depth of the Pitch Envelope Modulation. This control is bipolar so works negatively as well.

FM ENV SHAPE - Controls the envelope shape for the Modulation depth.

FM ENV AMOUNT - Controls the depth of the Frequency Modulation Envelope. This control is bipolar so works negatively as well.

AMP ENV SHAPE - Controls the envelope shape for the Modulation depth.

MOD WAVE - Select the waveform from 8 possible waves; these are inspired by the waveforms from a certain very popular rackmounted 'FM Tone Generator' from the late 1980s.

CARRIER WAVE - As with the Mod Wave, selects the waveform from 8 possible waves.

SUSTAIN - When off, Stria's envelopes act as a simple AD-type envelope, attack phase, straight into decay/release with no hold. When on, the envelopes become ASR envelopes, allowing you to hold notes for bass/pad/chordal sounds.

CHORD - Select from either a single voice or an array of different chords.

INV (INVERSION) - Select from different Chord Inversions gibing you a slightly different feel for your chords without losing the harmonic content.

FIX - In FIX mode, the RATIO controls the actual modulator frequency rather than the ratio between modulator and carrier frequency.

STEREO - Spreads the individual voices across the stereo spectrum.

TRIG/GATE IN - Send in a Trigger or Gate Signal to trigger Stria's envelopes.

OUTPUTS - Stereo outputs.
