Version 1.5 Update - Quantized Randomisation, Added the ability to control the probability of dropping either left or right (Drift), as well as a Start of Sequence (SOS) trigger output
Pachinko is a unique, random branching sequencer taking inspiration of Japanese ‘Pachinko’ gaming machines. The Sequencer will randomly make it’s way down the ‘tree’, almost like the balls in a Pachinko machine. For every ‘node’ it hits, the sequencer will output a voltage determined by the knobs. There are 128 different paths that the sequencer can choose from!
Instructions
For each pulse received by the Trig In jack, the sequencer will randomly determine (via a 50/50 coin toss) which of the below paths to take, and then jump to that node.
Inputs
TRIG IN – When this input receives a Gate or Trigger (>= 2.5v) the module will trigger a step movement down the sequencer to the next row.
RESET – When the Reset input receives a Gate or Trigger (>=2.5v) both the sequencer will reset back to the first step.
STEPS – Select how many steps you want in the sequence.
RANGE – Determines the output range – from 1v to 10v.
DRIFT - Determines the probability of dropping either left or right. If centered, the probabilities are equal 50%. If fully left, only left-hand nodes will be selected with no random chance, if fully right, only right-hand nodes will be selected with no random chance.
NODE KNOBS – Select the Voltage Output for each of the 36 possible nodes in the sequencer. The range is determined by the RANGE switch.
Outputs
CV OUT – Outputs the Voltage determined by the currently active ‘node’ or knob.
TRIG OUT - Outputs a brief HIGH signal if the current node is at greater than 50% (12 o' clock or later)
SOS - Outputs a brief HIGH Signal when the top Node is active (i.e. the start of the sequence)
