The EG-1 is a tempo synced envelope

The controls and their functions:

[Gate] This jack triggers the start of the envelope cycle every time this jack receives a gate signal. Triggers can be gates or CV / LFO signals. [Sync] When this button is turned off, the envelope responds in milliseconds. When switched on it's synced to the project Bpm, and the knobs set the following time segments: 1/128, 1/64, 1/32, 1/16. 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 1/1. 2/1, 4/1. In this mode the envelope can be used as a single-shot LFO [Attack] Sets the attack time. When the sync is turned off the time can be set from 0 ms to 10000 ms [Decay] Sets the decay time. When the sync is turned off the time can be set from 0 ms to 10000 ms [Sustain] Sets the sustain level in percentage. When sync is turned the sustain time is the same as the decay time. [Release] Sets the release time from 0ms ~ 10000 ms. The release stage starts as soon as the gate signal is released or the time segment of the sustain ends when sync is turned on. [EG Int.] Sets the intensity of the envelope signal from negative 100% to 0% to 100% positive. In center position there is no envelope signal.
