Lovely, but Limited
This is my most-used sequencer, but has serious limitations. It desperately needs gate out jacks for each step. You can get around this by using multiple 8-Step sequencers all synced and advancing in step, but people with the skills to do that aren't likely using a basic 8-Step sequencer. I do like to see what I can do with such a basic tool, and you can do amazing things with it. It can be used for melodies, for CV modulation, as a clock, as a clock divider, a DC offset, and for percussion among other things. I like the randomize feature in the right-click menu also affects the gate buttons. This means you can combine 2 of these to get some great drum patterns, and use the step button to vary the rhythms, and change the number of steps on one or both to explore polyrhythms. In short, you can do some complicated things with this basic sequencer if you use a lot of them at the same time.
