An innovative filter design with thoughtful connectivity to match, all wrapped up and easy to use, the Floating Resonance Serial Filter cascades 1-pole filters with a unique floating resonance design which allows the device a delicious tonal palette of liquid filter sweeps.

Start with the top input at the left, and on the right side, each successive output will provide 1, 2, 3, 4... pole filtering from top to bottom, up to 8 poles. Since each output is normalled to the input below, this is equivalent to zigzag-patching all of the rows into one long chain. You can break the chain by inserting another input along the way, perhaps splitting the device into stereo 4-pole filters or eight 1-pole filters, all sharing a common cutoff frequency. Or, you can go ahead and do that zizag patching while inserting effects along the way, perhaps wavefolding early and inserting reverb late, or sending outputs back to inputs for feedback patching. Chains go unbroken by connecting outputs, so go ahead and use the various cutoff slopes at the same time. If you mix a selection of themj together, you can create wonderful hybrid slopes.

At the top, a pair of buttons allow you to invert the filtered signal and mix the output with equal amounts of input signal. In the right combination, this turns the device into a highpass or bandpass filter. In other combinations, you can affect the tonality.

Above all, the filter excels at slow sweeps and thick tones, while flexibly morphing tonalities with its floating resonance.
