The GC-2 produces a unique type of syncopation.
The idea is to break an incoming clock pulse into multiple segments, each segment to be a complete outgoing clock cycle. The portion of time given to each segment is controlled by knobs for each segment that allow each portion to easily be adjusted relative to the others.
There is a ratchet gate output that further takes each segment and divides it into a specified number of equal segments, or a ratchet. It is a great way to drive a percussive element during certain segments of the timing.
Both the portion, and number of ratchets, for each segment are also controllable by CV.
Shuffle, swing, and syncopation will all become your playground.
Here is a short video showing the syncopation of differently portioned segments, and use of a slow LFO to vary the number of ratchets on step one from pass to pass: https://youtu.be/ZZJaqa03ICU
Longer video of slow speed rhythms, with oscilloscope display to show how the input clock at top (in red), is changed for the output gate (yellow), and the rachet output (in green): https://youtu.be/UxBwEQkvFfQ
You may notice the musicality varies through out. Small changes are probably best! This instrument has a lot of depth to explore, and may require study and practice to perform well!
