This simple utility converts Left/Right stereo signals to Mid/Side representations. The Mid/Side outputs are normalled to the Mid/Side inputs, which are then converted back to a Left/Right stereo representation.
Without any additional patching, this module can be used as a voltage-controlled stereo widener. Simply plug your stereo L/R signal into the top inputs, and use the L/R outputs on the bottom. The Width control will go from mono at 0%, to stereo at 50% (default value), to super-stereo at 100%.
The real fun is using the Mid/Side outputs to create unusual effect chains. As an example, take the Side output and run it through a delay effect. Run the delay's output back into the Side input. Now, the Mid signal (i.e. the signal shared by the Left and Right inputs) will be unaffected, but the Side signal will be echoed!
