This modules provides a 16-step trigger sequencer in a very small package. It has 16 toggles that allow you to turn each step on or off, and which can be randomized with the R button, or by sending a trigger to the randomize input, to quickly produce variations. You can set the rate of the internal clock with the knob on the left, or choose an external clock with the toggle at the bottom, when there is a signal connected to the clock input. There is also a play button with its respective trigger input. You can select the number of steps for the sequence with the knob on the right
This simple module can become extremely powerful when you combine several copies, which you can easily do because of its small size. You can use the multiple copies to run different drums, and sync them all with an external clock. By setting different numbers of steps you can easily achieve constantly shifting rhythmic patterns.
By using an audio rate signal as external clock, you can also use this module as a low-fi oscillator, taking the raw output, and perhaps mixing multiple copies to achieve interesting noisy timbres that you can then filter or process. But as the output of the module is between 0 and 5, you should use a Scale and Offset module to center the output around zero when using it to produce audio signals.
This module is part of the collection of Benard mini modules, which aims to provide powerful modules in very small packages for flexibility in designing patches when space is limited, such as when working on a small screen for studio or live performance.
