RFM_JOTNAR is a sound source module, a texture synthesizer, a chaotic synthesizer and member of the RFM Runic series.

Use the THICKNESS knob to go from 3 to 20 of the internal oscillators to shape a sound. On initialization the oscillators are created and every one of the oscillators is set to a random waveform (from sine, triangle, sawtooth, pulse and square wave)

Oscillators can have different pitches, but within a usable musical context The button under the THICKNESS knob restarts the wave initialization process. That can also be modulated using the corresponding input.

The NOISE knob feeds Noise into the oscillators frequency to create more chaotic sound. Use the modulation input to drive this externally. The switch below the Noise can make some Noise audible as well (although this is not modulated)

The GRIT knob adds distortion (also level can go up) to the sound - GRIT can also be modulated.

The CHAOS knobs and corresponding input change the relationships between oscillators and changes frequency among other parameters.

The PITCH knob changes the basic pitch, and you can of course use the pitch input for a keyboard connection.

The RND / ALL switch lets you to choose to have ALL oscillators be affected by settings and modulations or a RANDOM selection of oscillators. Using the RND setting the module might be more playable with certain settings... But keep in mind the module is more intended to be a texture sound source than a playable oscillator anyway.

The gray area with 5 knobs holds the controls for the port of the AirWindows reverb to UNIVERSE, for which the code was kindly offered by my betatester Chris Neuberger from R_Ware. You'll find knobs here for 'size', bright', 'replace', 'detune' and 'dry/wet' to set the character of the reverb that adds a lot to the created texture. Don't forget to use the WIDTH knob to spread the used oscillator over the stereo image.
