  • ROLLERZ is a source of Relabi pseudo-rhythms based on Ciat-Lonbarde Rolzer.
  • It's sold individually and as part of UNCONVENTIONAL BUNDLE.

ROLLERZ generates an array of orderly and disorderly rhythms from its even and odd geometries. Visually identical, each column of the ROLLERZ contains individual pulse generators, known as roll, arranged into groupings of six, three, four, five, and six. Even-numbered rolls are considered to be stable, while the odd-numbered rolls rotate the active pulse between their outputs. Because all original brown jacks are what Ciat-Lonbarde calls sandrodes: androgynous nodes which function both as inputs and outputs I had to made separate inputs (blue jacks) and outputs (brown jacks). Because a roll consists of multiple stages of transistors charging and discharging capacitors, these patch points may transmit or receive voltages at different stages of this process. The orange jack, however, is consistent pulse output.

By patching the brown jacks between the blue jacks, a variety of stacked rhythms pushing and pulling against each other are achieved. This ties back into the concept of Relabi: loose "rhythms" with suspended or erased pulses; simultaneous musical timelines occurring all at once. External inputs are very welcome too.

Unlike the original version I added a knob to tune the rate of the rolls. Below an orange jack to output a trigger signal as the main clock of the machine. A switch to change to three different configurations of the 5 rolls with relative CV input. A purple input jack to reset all the rolls at the same time when hit by >=2.5V signal. While the green input jacks to reset each single roll separately.
