SEQ/Link is a module intended to use in combination with planet.6 trigger-step sequencer SEQ/Steps. You can link up to 6 SEQ/Steps using this module as pattern-chainer. The inputs/outputs are labeled according to SEQ/Steps, but this module also works with other input/output sources. SEQ/Link is part of the Step/Peak/Blend bundle.

SEQ/Link will loop automatically according to the length. If length is set to 2 inputs, link will loop between input one and two. The trigger will advance SEQ/Link to the next input. You can add variation by using the 5 different playback patterns for the blue/accent inputs, which can result in nice variation when using SEQ/Steps together with Peaks.

The controls and their functions: from top to bottom:

  • Input jacks: The left 6 input jacks from top to bottom are the inputs for the orange/gate output, the 6 right ones for the blue/accent output.
  • Length knobs: This knob sets the length of Link. If you have 4 patterns to play i.e. you want 4 inputs, set length to 4. (*)
  • Mode: With this knob you set the play mode for the blue inputs. The play modes that are available "123456", "654321", "135246", "123465" and "156432".
  • Trig in: This is the jack that receives triggers to advance Link to the next input. The "traditional setup": sync-out -> sync-divider -> link: will advance to the next step and sync to your DAW.
  • Reset: Resets link to input 1. Use a play trigger from the i/o when syncing to the DAW.
  • Gate out: Is the output jack of the left input that is active, that can be checked by the orange leds next to the input jacks.
  • Accent out: Is the output jack of the right input that is active, that can be checked by the blue leds next to the input jacks.

(*) If you have two SEQ/Steps and want Link to play 1,1,1,2: set Length to 4, patch Seq/Steps-1 to inputs 1 to 3 and Seq/Steps-2 to input 4.
