4 columns of voltages are set by silver dials, leading to CV outputs along the right. Using the red buttons or triggers/gates to advance, the CV outputs morph to the voltages of one column from those of another, in sequence (STEP jack) or randomly (RAND STEP jack) or jumping to specified columns (numbered bottom jacks). The TIME control determines how quickly voltages swing from one value to another.
This means you can make patches that turn on a dime, that you can set up various presets which are ready to go at a moment's notice, and that you can perform interesting modulation patterns that are otherwise difficult to come by.
