R_WARE STEP
Divide continuous signals into a sequence of evenly spaced steps!
Get in step and make your waveforms steppy! Divide unipolar and bipolar signals into evenly spaced steps with optional smoothing for the transitions. Convert a signal into triggers and gates that depend on the current signal value divided into steps!
MANUAL
Connections:
- IN
- input signal to process
- control the input level with the attenuverter knob on the top right of the jack
- TRIGGER
- outputs a trigger every time the signal advances to the next step above or below
- the length of the trigger can be controlled with the small knob on the top left of the jack. Set the length of the trigger precisely in samples. At 0 the output is effectively muted. Regular trigger signals are 1 sample long. However, some envelope generators might need longer triggers to work properly.
- GATE
- outputs a gate for the duration of smoothing during step transitions
- Set the level of the gate output with the attenuverter knob on the top left of the jack
- OUT
- outputs the stepped signal according to the configuration
- set the output level with the attenuverter knob on the top left of the jack
Controls:
- SMOOTH
- applies smoothing to the step transitions
- attenuate the CV input with the attenuverter knob on the top right of the jack
- STEPS
- determines the number of steps the signal will be divided into. all steps are equidistantly/evenly spaced in the set range (default: -5V to +5V)
- attenuate the CV input with the attenuverter knob on the top right of the jack
Config Menu:
- POLARITY
- Bipolar
- treat positive and negative part of the waveform equally
- Unipolar
- treat positive and negative part of the waveform independently
- UniBipolar
- mix of Bipolar and Unipolar polarity
- Bipolar
- ROUNDING
- Floor
- Round values down to the closest integer number
- Nearest
- Round values either up or down to the closest integer number
- Ceiling
- Round values up to the closest integer number
- Floor
- RANGE
- Choose from a multitude of available range options that determine the analyzer range which will be divided into STEPS number of steps
- DENOISE
- De-actiate the input dithering by activating DeNoise
- With DeNoise inactive the module works as a versatile noise source when no input is connected. Use the SMOOTH control to change the noise color.
ChangeLog
build#9
- added trigger length knob
- added gate level attenuverter
- added DeNoise option to Config Menu
