sys.6 | tristar is a oscillator with 6 triangle waveforms. I see tristar as the little triangular brother of razor. With the function knob the traditional triangle waveform morphs to the 5 tristar-model triangles. See the images for further reference. The triangle oscillator can be detuned by 2 octaves up/down in notes.
The controls and their functions from top to bottom:
-
Top white (function) knob: Morphs the traditional triangle waveform (0%) to the tristar-model waveform (100%).
-
Detune knob: Sets the detune amount for the oscillator. Detuning has a four octave range: -24 to +24 notes.
-
Type switch: Sets the triangle-model. The different types are: tri-squeeze,tri-chop, tri with pulse-width modulation, tri-fold-1 (wild-style-fold) and tri-fold-2 (chilled-out-fold).
-
Pitch: Is the input for the pitch/note.
-
Func.CV knob and jack: Is the input to use a CV signal to modulate the morph amount between the traditional triangle waveform to it's tristar-model.
-
Out: Outputs the oscillator signal.
-
The CV-led has 3 states. If the incoming signal is negative, the led blinks blue, when positive it blinks green.
(!) When clicking the p.6 logo located at the bottom of the module you can select a triangle or a saw-sin waveform.
