sys.α | oscillator is a versatile DCO-inspired oscillator with three independently adjustable waveform sources. Combining pulse, sawtooth and sub-oscillator waveforms, it offers a flexible foundation for everything from solid basses and punchy leads to rich, layered synth tones and classic Hoover-style sounds. Each waveform section features its own level control and waveform selection, allowing you to blend the three sources into a single, cohesive sound. With multiple pulse (3), sawtooth (5) and sub-oscillator (6) waveforms, pulse-width modulation and adjustable pitch offset, the module offers a wide range of tonal possibilities in a compact 5 HP format. A dedicated portamento control adds smooth, continuous pitch transitions, while the sub-oscillator provides additional weight and depth. The PWM input, with its bipolar CV attenuverter, gives you precise control over external modulation of the pulse width.

The controls and their functions (top to bottom):

• Pulse Level: Adjusts the output level of the pulse waveform.
• Saw Level: Adjusts the output level of the sawtooth waveform.
• Sub.Osc Level: Adjusts the output level of the sub-oscillator.
• Pulse Wave: Selects between three pulse waveform configurations, including a pulse-width-modulated option.
• Saw Wave: Selects between five sawtooth waveform configurations, offering different harmonic structures and modulation characteristics.
• Sub.Osc Wave: Selects between six sub-oscillator configurations, combining different pulse shapes and octave divisions.
• Range: Transposes the main oscillator in five steps: −2, −1, 0, +1 and +2 octaves.
• P-Width: Adjusts the pulse width. The usable range is limited to keep the waveform away from extreme settings.
• Portamento: Sets the glide time for smooth transitions between incoming pitch voltages, from 0 to 1000 ms.
• PWM CV Int.: Attenuverts the external PWM modulation signal, allowing positive or negative modulation depth.
• Pitch In-jack: Accepts 1 V/oct pitch CV. With no cable connected, the oscillator runs at its base pitch.
• PWM In-jack: Accepts external CV for pulse-width modulation.
• Out: Main audio output, combining the selected pulse, sawtooth and sub-oscillator waveforms according to their individual level settings.
• Sub: Separate output for the selected sub-oscillator waveform.
