Inspired by G. M. Koenig’s concept of tendency masks, this module produces random values between two boundaries, with selectable uniform or Gaussian distribution. Output range can be selected with radio buttons and offset with a fader, and there is also glide control. All parameters are CV-controllable, and there are two separate output channels for convenience, sharing the same parameter values but producing independent random voltages.

This module is great for producing granular clouds of changing shapes and textures. With a quantizer it can also be used to produce random melodies within a scale or pitch space.

When connected, the Edge1 and Edge2 CV inputs replace the values of the respective knobs (instead of modulating them), and are attenuated by the small knobs next to the jacks. The Glide CV input instead uses the Glide knob as attenuator when a signal is connected. There is no restriction to use Edge1 and Edge2 as upper or lower edges, so they can cross freely and the resulting voltages will always be selected from the resulting space between the two edges.
