CA2600 Synthesizer

Note: This is a standalone instrument, not a module for Voltage Modular. If you're looking for a similar module for Voltage Modular check out the Vintage Voice Bundle

The Cherry Audio CA2600 is a powerful, self-contained duophonic synthesizer inspired by the groundbreaking ARP 2600 synthesizer. Every aspect of the original, from the quirky oscillator waves, to the powerful ladder filter, to the external audio input and preamp section was modeled with tremendous precision. Though it features similar functionality, it’s been thoughtfully updated for increased flexibility - with semi-normalled patch cabling, integrated effects, and no hidden windows or menus in the audio path, CA2600 delivers an unprecedented hands-on, “everything right in front of you, right now!,” vintage synthesis experience like no other.

Wildly flexible, capable of chunky basses, cutting leads, super-creative external audio processing, absolutely insane effects, and so much more, we believe you’ll find CA2600 to be the finest 2600 emulation ever created.

Great return to past, for the future

CA 2600 has many options to give life to new sonic experiences, fo music or audiovisual sound design! I hope Cherry Audio will release other synths reproductions, like the buchla semi modular, the prophet or the synthi. Thank you Cherry Audio

CA2600 . . . Smokin' !

I've had ALL the hardware synths in the 70's & 80's . . . sold them ALL in the 90's . . . Now I've replaced them ALL with ProToolls on a 8coreMac and soft synths . . . this CA2600 soft synth smokes everything ! ! ! Thanks Cherry Audio !

Love this!

This is a cool. cool synth to use and play. Love the presets and its ease of use and patch creation is just a whole lot of fun. So old school and completely well designed/made. Out of the box, this is just full of good sounds. Love it! Thanks Cherry Audio.

Superior Emulation of the Original

I owned and performed on stage with a real ARP2600 back in the 70's, when few understood how to use one, or any synth for that matter. It was 1 of 4 keyboards on my stage setup, and therefore indispensable. I also used backing tracks with additional 2600 parts, a technique that was not easy to attain in 1974. Then, my unit was destroyed in a fire in the 80s, and I was never able to replaced it. But, when virtual emulations of the 2600 started being marketed by a different outfit than Cherry Audio, I eagerly purchased the software license. To my great disappointment, that other emulation is just not up to par. It is missing a lot of the functionality you see at the bottom row of the Cherry Audio unit, including the voltage processors and lag processor, which in reality are essential for a lot of sophisticated patches to massage the right control voltages and polarity, as well as some smoothing functions provided by the lag processor. As a simple example, you can feed the output of the S/H (with pink noise as a source) to the lag processor to obtain a very low frequency random voltage signal to modulate other processors in the unit. Without the lag processor, you get a stepped output not suitable for this purpose. The Cherry Audio instrument captures it all in marvelous detail, even adding some very useful functionality that was not present in the original 2600. Kudos to the designers of this virtual instrument for doing an outstanding job in emulating this ancient beasty extremely well! I highly recommend this instrument, especially over and way above what the competition offers. This thing is on the money, and a pleasure to use.
