Build an expanding CV-controlled mixer with any number of channels. Each module links with the next, so that new channels can be added as needed, with no wasted faders or space. It’s a design that resists implementation in the analog world, but it can be realized digitally without consequences to audio quality.
Each channel can be used in stereo, and mono signals on the Left input are automatically duplicated to both outputs. The module can be readily used as a bus or master fader for itself and signals can be monitored via on-board VU meters that appear when in operation.
Muting, panning, and volume are all CV-controllable, and the responsiveness/behavior of the latter two can be dialed to taste with tiny adjustment screws.
This is the modular mixer for modular synthesis.

truly modular mixer
oftentimes this is one of the first modules i put into a patch. when i am starting out i often don't know how big and complex it will get. with this little helper i can adjust everything on the fly. if i need another channel, just duplicate and it will simply work. no more chains of mixers where one mixer is almost empty..
it's a simple but powerful idea; a modular mixer. amazing.
