Boolean Truth

"What is truth?" asked a Roman Prefect; whatever kind of truth he may have had in mind, the Boolean variety is susceptible of definition. Boolean Truth allows redefinition of the truth threshold with regard to Boolean operations to a value other than the system-standard 2.5 Volts for any Cyberwerks module that accepts a BLink connection. It also defines voltage minima and maxima, which can be used for various purposes by modules. Boolean Truth maintains the maximum, threshold, and minimum knobs in a strict monotonically-increasing order, and won't allow them to be set otherwise. True and False output values can also be set, representing voltages used to output truth values; these are constrained so that false < threshold <= true. The modulated threshold isn't so constrained.

Boolean Truth's threshold value can be CV-modulated by a scaled input voltage, allowing for a time-varying truth threshold. Should such modulation result in excessive out-of-range voltages, the output and true/false values can be hard-clipped to the knob-set minimum and maximum by toggling the Clip button on. The polyphonic BLink connector uses the first six channels to send, respectively, minimum, threshold, maximum, CV-modulated threshold, true, and false. These six values are also available through the six monophonic output jacks for other uses. The module sends its version number over a seventh channel. Note that the number of polyphonic voices must be set to at least seven in Voltage Modular's Control Panel for Boolean Truth to function correctly; if set to less, the channel count will appear in red to remind you.

The help you're currently reading is always available within the module by clicking on the Cyberwerks name at the bottom of the module; it can also be reached by pressing Ctrl-H (Win) or Cmd-F1 (Mac) with the module selected.

Disclaimer: this module does NOT reprogram Voltage Modular's internal Boolean threshold; it supplies an alternate threshold that can be used by any module that supports a BLink connection (currently only Cyberwerks modules).
