Boolean Truth

"What is truth?" asked a Roman Prefect; whatever kind of truth he may have had in mind, the Boolean variety is susceptible of definition. Boolean Truth allows redefinition of the truth threshold with regard to Boolean operations to a value other than the system-standard 2.5 Volts for any Cyberwerks module that accepts a BLink connection. It also defines both minimum/maximum and True/False voltage values, which can be used for various purposes by other modules. Boolean Truth maintains the knobs associated with these values in a strict monotonically-increasing order, and won't allow them to be set otherwise. The modulated threshold isn't so constrained; if the Clip button is lit, it is constrained between the minimum and maximum values. The constraint order is:

minimum < false < threshold < true < maximum

Boolean Truth's threshold value can be CV-modulated by a scaled input voltage, allowing for a time-varying truth threshold. Should such modulation result in excessive out-of-range voltages, the modulated threshold value can be hard-clipped to the knob-set minimum and maximum with the Clip button. The BLink poly connector uses the first six channels to send, respectively, minimum, threshold, maximum, CV-modulated threshold, true, and false. They're also available through the six monophonic output jacks. The module sends its version number over a seventh channel, and a boolean specifying whether the CV-modulated output actually is modulated over an eighth. Note that the number of polyphonic voices must be set to at least eight in Voltage Modular's Control Panel for Boolean Truth to function correctly; if set to fewer, the channel count will appear in bold block red to remind you.

Disclaimer: this module does NOT reprogram Voltage Modular's internal Boolean threshold; it supplies an alternate threshold that can be used by any module that supports a BLink connection (currently only Cyberwerks modules).
