Travel to an alternate reality where the synthesizers of the 1980s meet modular synthesis - introducing the COSMOS Phase Distortion Oscillator.

Inspired by the Casio CZ-line of Phase Distortion Synths introduced in 1984, this module recreates the Digital Controlled Oscillator (DCO) section of those synths. Featuring 8 unique waveforms which can be CV-modulated from a basic sine wave, through to saw, square, pulse, double-sine, saw-pulse, and 3 resonant waves which mimic a juicy analog filter with the resonance turned up!

For a polyphonic version please check out thew Cosmos Oscillator POLY.

Inputs, Outputs and Controls

Pitch CV - 1v/Oct pitch control or for more control, the accompanying COSMOS Pitch Utility.

Octave - Controls the Octave of the pitch.

Detune - Controls the tuning of the pitch in semitones.

Waveform (x2) - Selects between the 8 different waveforms. As with the modules' inspiration, the oscillator features two waveforms that play one after the other. At audible frequencies this gives the impression of the two waves mixing together.

DCW (Digital Controlled Wave) - Controls the modulation, or 'distortion' of the phase of the oscillator. At 0%, the waveform will just be a simple sine wave, which transforms as the modulation increases.

CV & CV Mod - Allows you to CV-control the DCW, with the CV Mod knob attenutating the CV input signal.

Key Flw - Controls the total DCW level as the oscillator pitch increases. At higher settings, the DCW reduces significantly as you move up the keyboard, which dulls the sound (and also reduces anti-aliasing)

Out - Oscillator output.
