Travel to an alternate reality where the synthesizers of the 1980s meet modular synthesis - introducing the COSMOS MSEG (Multi-Segment Envelope Generator).
Inspired by the Casio CZ-line of Phase Distortion synths introduced in 1984, this module recreates the envelope Section of those synths. Featuring up to 8 segments, the COSMOS MSEG gives you much more control over your sound than a run of the mill ADSR envelope generator - and featuring a helpful envelope display so you're not rummaging through a menu of 2 digit numbers as per the original CZ synthesizers!
Inputs, Outputs and Controls
Levels (7 Sliders) - Control the level of each point of your envelope - higher is louder.
Rates (8 Sliders) - Controls the rate of change of each stage, rather than the time (as seen on more traditional ADSR envelope generators). As this is the case, the higher the slider, the higher the rate of change, and the faster the envelope. Can go from 5ms up to approx. 11 seconds per stage!
Gate Input (POLY) - Poly input to activate the gate. Anything over 2v should trigger the gate opening.
Sustain Pedal - When high, essentially holds all currently playing envelopes to the level of the sustain stage (see below).
Sustain Stage - Selects the stage in which the envelope will stay if a note is held down - also signified by a vertical line on the envelope display.
End Stage - Selects the final stage of the envelope. Keep this low for simple envelopes, turn it up to use all 8 stages.
Env. Out (POLY) - 0..5v Signals are outputted here to modulate other modules. In the original CZ-line of synthesizers, separate MSEGs controlled the DCW, DCA (Amplifier) and DCO (Pitch).
