DMT Gemini Dual Euclidean Sequencer brings this concept to the world of Voltage Modular, allowing you to quickly and easily utilize these fascinating rhythms in your own works. This module contains two separate Euclidean sequences with independent variables to enable you to overlay multiple rhythms, giving you the joys of polymetric rhythm!
The Gemini Dual Euclidean Sequencer allows you to simply recreate many types of common and unusual rhythms found all across the world (and beyond). Simple number combinations can deliver complex polymetric rhythms that won't repeat themselves for a long time!
Instructions
Sequencer Display
Each sequence's steps are displayed using LEDs arranged in a circle (A on the outside, B on the inside), with step 1 being at 12 o' clock. Each 'active' step is shown with an active LED (red for A, blue for B), and the current sequencer step is displayed with a black ring around the LED.
When changing the number of steps per sequence, the display will re-arrange itself to show only the number of steps in that sequence. Inputs
CLOCK IN x2 - When the Clock input receives a Gate or Trigger (>= 2.5v) the module will trigger a step movement on the sequencer in the direction specified by the MODE switch. If a jack is connected only to input A and not B, any input gates/triggers will step both sequencer A and B together, otherwise Sequence A and B can be triggered using separately.
MODE - This 3-way switch determines the direction of travel of the active step on the sequencer.
FWD - Loops forward (Clockwise) through the sequencer.
BCK - Loops backwards (Counter-Clockwise) through the sequencer.
RND - Chooses the next step at random. This mode allows the module to mimic a probability gate where the probability of activating a trigger is Events / Steps i.e. 8 Events and 16 Steps = 50% chance.
RESET - When the Reset input receives a Gate or Trigger (>=2.5v) both sequencer A and B will reset back to step 1.
STEPS - Select how many steps you want in either sequence A or B. Manual control with the knob, or CV control via the CV Input.
EVENTS - Choose how many 'active' steps you wish to trigger over the sequence. For example, selecting 5 will trigger 5 steps out of the total steps selected above. Again, manual control via the knob, or CV control via the CV Input.
SHIFT - Determines by how steps the sequence is 'shifted'. For example, selecting 1 will shift the whole sequence 1 step to the right (any active steps at the end of the sequence will flow back to the beginning. Can be manually controlled via the knob, or controlled via CV Input.
START - Starts and stops the sequencer.
RESET - Resets both sequences to step 1 (12 o' clock). Outputs
GATE OUT (x3) - Two seperate gate output, one for sequence A, one for sequence B, which go high whenever the active step has an event. There is also a third gate output which combines the two sequence outputs together.
DARK MODE - Click on the DMT Audio Logo to toggle between Light and Dark Modes - save your eyes!
