Mono2Poly

Mono2Poly

Mono2Poly takes sixteen monophonic inputs and outputs them as a single polyphonic output. Besides this simple function, it can also take a polyphonic input; any monophonic input present overrides the appropriate channel in the output, while channels with no monophonic input present will output the channel value from the polyphonic input. Thus, it can be used to inject signals into specific channels of the output. The presence of a non-zero voltage on a channel is indicated by that channel's green LED.

The mono jack next to the multi-state function toggle button outputs one of four signals, depending on the setting of the toggle:

  • Mix outputs the sum of the active polyphonic input signals;
  • Avg outputs the sum of the inputs divided by the number of inputs;
  • Max constructs a signal from the sample-by-sample maximum of the inputs; and
  • Min constructs a signal from the sample-by-sample minimum of the inputs.

The function toggle button is declicked via a half-second crossfade between the previous function and the current one. Depending on the signals in the various channels, there can be rather extreme differences from one setting to the next, so the declicking can't be perfect. The declicking can be disabled by pressing the button marked DeClk so that it doesn't light; this is particularly useful for CV signals.
