Make notes from signals.

A convenient way to get pretty much any signal to cause an oscillator to play musical notes that you select, the Note Actuator has an array of jacks looking for a signal over 0V (usually a gate or trigger), it checks the neighboring note selection (set with a pitch knob), and then it sends that note voltage along to the 1V/oct output (top-right). It’s monophonic, so it’ll always send the most recent note or, if simultaneous, the note listed closer to the top of the module (so you can arrange your own note priorities). There's also a master transpose knob that'll slide a whole scale up or down at once. Additionally, the input gates/triggers/signals are collected into a single “net” output (top-left) that works excellently with envelope generators so that each note can have the ADSR you’d like. It could also be used for interesting effects that you’d like to turn on as a note is played. In fact, ignoring the pitch CV out, this device makes an excellent OR gate, outputting a signal whenever one is detected on any of its inputs.

Use the Note Actuator to link oscillators to rhythm sequencers, to find strange ways to create melodies from odd sources, to scan gates for anything active, and to generate notes from signals that were never intended to specify notes. It’s a lot of fun to use with the Cycle Sequencer too.

trigger-able notes!

this is the best addition to a gate/trigger sequencer there is! add note sequencing capabilities to anything that can output gates or triggers.
