PB Midi Note Measure Gold Edition

***Midi Note Measure Gold Edition is a compact yet powerful precision tool for capturing and counting midi notes of your performance in real-time. Based of the Mini Midi Note Measure this version is designed ready to go for different world record attempts of the number of notes played in a minute (configurable).

⚙️ Core Workflow

• Plug in your MIDI source.
• Press Reset to start fresh—the timer begins with your first MIDI note.
• Once your time limit is reached, the module stops counting incoming notes.

🎛 Counting Display Modes

• All Notes: Every note triggers a count.
• Per ms notes: Enforces a minimum time gap (1–99ms, default 25ms) between notes to qualify.
• One note at a time: Only one note at a time—requires all gates to be off (all notes released) before counting the next.

🔌 Inputs & Controls

• Reset: Starts a new session; waits for the first note to begin counting, can be triggered externally.
• Countdown: This is the time to measure can be set from 1-59 minutes.
• ms: Used to set the milliseconds between notes for the "Per ms notes" (see above in Counting Modes).
• MIDI Port: Direct input for MIDI signal.
• Panel Midi: Automatically connects MIDI from Voltage Modular's I\O control panel. Note: Only one active device should use the I\O Panel with MIDI.

📊 Other Display Outputs

• Timer: The current time of the active run.
• There are 3 columns, All notes, Per ms notes and One note at a time.
• 1st Row: This shows the total count.
• 2nd Row: Live Per Second, is the current live count of the last second completed.
• 3rd Row: Avg Per Second for the whole session.

🐻 Bonus Feature
Colour (color) menu, double click the Bear ( but not too hard it might make him grumpy..), you now get a menu to select a new color from, you can also locked that color, existing modules will be locked as default where as new modules will be unlocked. What is locking? If you change color, the global color index is updated (Locked or unlocked), any new modules loaded will follow that color index, any patches which have this module loaded and unlocked will also change their color to the global color index. Locked will stop any global color changes to the module..

🌍 Behind the Module
I created Mini Midi Note Measure following a request from Ulli, a pianist chasing the world record for “Fastest Single Piano Keystrokes in a Minute.” Inspired by existing tools like the Mini Midi Note Counter, after several conversation I tailored a solution to track keystroke speed with precision and flexibility. The result? On 15th June 2025, the record was successfully broken, Ulli had used the Mini Midi Note Measure and seeing how she decided to use 2, side by side for different results, I made this version so only one would be needed.

**Note: Changing the display for "Countdown" and "ms", if you hover your mouse over the display in question, your mouse arrows will change to up\down pointer, you can now click and drag the values either up or down.
