A "Preset Voltage Stepper" device can store up to 2048 different notes\voltages which is made up of 16 notes per group with 128 steps. I like to think of it as 128 different chords using the maximum of 16 notes, of course you can link more than one device together to make even more.

At the top of the device there is an input and output ports which allow the linking of several devices together, between the ports there is a display which shows which step is currently selected, the step number goes from 0 to 127 which gives 128 step. These ports work on a 1v/127.

Timing:-

  • In Time: the time it takes (in secs) to get from the current value to the target value. (.5 to 60 seconds, 0 seconds turns off the option resulting in a instant change).
  • Intervals: the time interval to advance forward one step (1 to 500ms, 0ms turns off the option resulting in a instant change).

Output:-

  • Stepped: You advance one digital step within a set period of time.
  • 2xHalves: You advance 2 times half digital steps within a set period of time.
  • 4xQuarters: You advance 4 times quarter digital steps within a set period of time.
  • Smooth: smooths out the signal for the given time.

Poly CV, Gate and Velocity In, once you have finished programing or not using the Live option, these cables can be removed.
Poly CV, Gate and Velocity Out, both the CV and Gate have to be connected, velocity is optional.

Note and Gate: You can manually change each note and gate per step, even if a gate is off on a previous step the note value is still valid to slide from, when say going from a three note to four note chord, you can set the note valid on the three note with the gate off and it will slide from that.

Button options:-

  • Live: The incoming is signal is processed live.
  • Learn: This puts the device into learn mode, you can input a chord and then save the changes.
  • Auto Save: When in Learn mode the Auto Save is available, once a chord is learnt it will saved and then you are advanced to the next step ready for learning the next chord.
  • Off: Manually turn off all gates.
  • ReTrig: This will make a Gate Retrigger by dropping the signal to zero for a single sample. Why would you use this, going from one step to another step the gate could be kept high, this makes sure it is retriggered.
  • Save: Save the current Step.
  • Copy: Copies all the notes from the current step.
  • Paste: Paste all the notes to the current step. Note you can Copy and Paste between different instances of this module.

Note: The "Number" Displays can be changed by hovering your mouse over it, then click and drag to change the value. You can also right click and enter a value in manual and also from the right click there is Midi learn so it can be assigned to a Midi controller.

Darkmode: double click the Bear but not too hard it might make him grumpy..
