R_Ware Resonating Singularity Filter

One-Pole Ladder Filter design with resonance and morphing!

The R_Ware Resonating Singularity Filter is a versatile and unique filter module. Despite having only one pole, it is capable of producing resonance and can morph between lowpass, bandpass, and highpass filter types.

A one-pole filter means that the filter has a very gentle slope of 6dB/octave to its frequency response curve. However, this does not prevent the filter from having resonance, which is the tendency of the filter to emphasize certain frequencies near its cutoff point. This resonance can be adjusted using the filter's resonance control, which increases the amplitude of the frequencies near the cutoff point.

The ability to morph between lowpass, bandpass, and highpass filter types allows for more versatility in shaping the sound. A lowpass filter allows low frequencies to pass through while attenuating higher frequencies, a highpass filter does the opposite, and a bandpass filter only allows frequencies within a certain range to pass through. Morphing between these types allows for a wider range of filtering options and can help shape the sound to fit the desired musical context.
