Poly Scaler

Poly Scaler independently scales all sixteen channels of a polyphonic input from -200% to 200%, outputting the scaled channels as a polyphonic output.

Poly Scaler can take either a polyphonic or monophonic CV, scaling the CV value(s) between -200% and 200%, then multiplying the channel values by the adjusted CV. Whereas the polyphonic CV affects each channel independently, the monophonic CV acts on all channels with the same scaled value. Should both CV jacks have cables attached, the polyphonic CV takes precedence. By setting all the channel knobs to 100% (the default), you can use the CV signals as scale factors in their own right. Note that a negative CV paired with a negative channel scale value will produce a positive total scaling factor, as per basic 'Rithmetic.*

The green channel LEDs indicate the presence of inputs to the channels, whereas the blue LEDs indicate the presence of CV inputs, either poly or mono. The intent of these LEDs is to allow you to quickly identify channels you want to scale in situations where you might have the poly channels sparsely populated.

Lastly, the Offset Button lets you give the lie to the module's name, by converting the effect of any CV present from scaling to offsetting; i.e., its value is not multiplied in, but added in. Coupled with creative use of the inputs and scaling jacks, this opens the door to several other creative uses for Poly Scaler.

*Here at Cyberwerks Heavy Industries, we have, of course, great respect for all three of the basic Rs: 'Rithmetic, 'Rhythm, and 'Ratcheting, which are taught with great rigor in the company schools.
